The Jewish word Hallel means 'Praise' and it is the first part of the word Hallelujah which more specifically means 'Praise the LORD.'
Psalms 113-118 are collectively know as the Hallel and were recited in their entirety during the major feast of the year, including the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall which is a thanksgiving feast and the predecessor of our American Thanksgiving tradition.
From Tuesday, October 24th - Wednesday, November 22nd (Thanksgiving Eve) we are going to model the early Pilgrims in their giving of thanks to the Lord, as well as in their eating together. Like we do at lent we will have dinner together starting at 6:15 and then a time of worship and thanks starting at 7:00.
Five weeks of joyful eating and worshiping together!
